Greeting from Italy, hello my beautiful friends, I have something very personal to share and thought what better place to do it than Italy. A place that is truly become a magical happy place for me. Roger and I are here celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and being here has made me reflect on just how incredibly blessed I am and how wonderful my life has been. 40 years ago this amazing man chose me and together we have created the most beautiful life and family I could ever have dreamed of. Roger, thank you for choosing me, loving me and always standing by me.
To my family, you are my heart, my strength and my greatest blessing. The love and support you have showed and surrounded me with is something I could never put into words.
And to my beautiful friends, whether I see you all the time, or haven’t seen you in years, you hold a special place in heart. We’ve shared laughter, tears, crazy moments, celebrations, raising families together and just doing simple life together. I love you and treasure you more than you will know and that is why it is so important to me that you hear this directly from me.
At the end of July I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am actually doing really good, but have a long journey ahead and my treatment will last about a year. And yes, chemotherapy is a must. But I know for certain I will not be walking this road alone. I have already been surrounded my more love, prayers, encouragement and support than I could have ever imagined. I feel completely spoiled and blessed. My cancer even has its own logo. I hope this doesn’t offend anybody, but we are calling it my shitty titty. And my amazing niece has even created a website to keep everyone updated along the way. How lucky am I to have such an amazing group behind me. I know there will be some hard days ahead, but today I am sitting here in beautiful Florence, celebrating 40 years with the love of my life, and I am choosing to focus on how blessed I am. Blessed with you Roger, blessed with my wonderful family, blessed with the most amazing friends and blessed with the beautiful life. So please keep my family in your prayers as we begin this journey. Your love, friendship and prayers has meant more to us than you will ever know. I love you my sweet friends.
